Nyah is a self-produced singer-songwriter and composer from Carson, California. Her musical style can be considered impressionist. Similar to an impressionist painting, Nyah composes sounds to depict human perception and emotion above reality.
With a background in vocal jazz music, Nyah complements atomospheric and ethereal tones with intricate rhythms--dabbling with how concepts such as time, light, warmth, and color can be felt.
Nyah has been composing music for film for three years, and studying under Eric Allaman. She has scored numerous student films, as well as a web series, and a 48hr film festival project. In the summer of 2016 she studied abroad in Sydney, Australia, where she composed the musical score for the short film Night Lights. Her composition won Best Original Score at the 2017 Reel Stories Film Festival. Night Lights placed 2nd in the 2017 BEA Film Festival, and 3rd place at the Ignite Film Showcase. The short film will be screened in the Windrider Forum at Sundace in January 2018.
